Custom Bathroom Countertops
The bathroom is a high-traffic location that sees a lot of action. From water to makeup to hairspray to shaving cream, your bathroom countertop needs to be able to hold up to the many potential hazards it will see throughout the day.
It’s important that your countertop is made of athat can withstand the heat, humidity, water, and cleaning products it will be exposed to on a daily basis.
At Centennial Woodworking, our custom cabinet makers offer two types of: granite and quartz.
Granite countertops are one of the most popular options for bathroom counters. Many people love the look and feel of a granite countertop, and its heat-resistant properties make it an ideal choice for the bathroom.
Granite is more porous than quartz, which makes it more prone to staining, but you can have the surface resealed each year in order to prevent this.
Quartz countertops are made of a durable, non-porous material, meaning it can hold up to water or other liquids without staining. Quartz countertops won’t scratch easily, and any surface-level scuffs can easily be buffed away to restore shine.
However, quartz will burn when exposed to high temperatures. Because of this, you shouldn’t rest heat-styling tools directly on a quartz countertop.
There are pros and cons to both granite and quartz countertops. At the end of the day, your preferences and your lifestyle are the determining factors in which option is best for you.
